Is Chewing GUM so BAD for your Health?

Your mom was telling you all the time that if swallowing the chewing gum it would sit in your stomach for seven years :)? If that really were the case, then it wouldn’t be hard to imagine how swallowing gum could hinder or damage your digestion. The truth is that chewing gum passes through your body like most other substances. Your stomach can’t break down the resin in chewing gum. But instead of just sitting there, the gum eventually makes its way out of your system through your stool. In some rare cases, people experience blockages after swallowing large masses of gum or several small pieces, one after the other. But accidentally swallowing a stick or two every now and then shouldn’t cause any harm.
